2. How is data collected?

BBM does not collect any personal data through this website unless you voluntarily provide it. Personal data is defined as “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.” BBM collects and processes personal data solely for the purpose of providing the services or information you have requested.

While browsing our website, certain information may be collected passively—that is, without you actively providing it—through various means such as IP addresses, cookies, web beacons, and clickstream data. This information is used solely to support technical decisions and statistical analysis, but never to identify individual users.

You have the right to access personal data concerning you that is included in our processing activities. If necessary, you may request that the data be corrected. To do so, please contact us at info@bb-m.be.

What is the purpose of collecting this data?
We collect this data for marketing, research, and service provision; to improve the website; to communicate with members, dentists, dental hygienists, students, and others; and to send out newsletters.

What is the legal basis for data collection?
To prepare for or perform a contract or provide a service. Information about the browser, device type, and IP address is obtained from cookies, which users accept when they visit a website. The BBM website uses “cookies” to help personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file placed on your hard drive by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.
Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the main purposes of cookies is to provide a convenient feature that saves you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize BBM pages or register with the BBM site or services, a cookie helps BBM remember your specific information for future visits. This simplifies the process of saving your personal information, such as your login name, details, and so on. When you return to the same BBM website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, allowing you to easily use the BBM features you have customized.

You have the option to accept or reject cookies.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser settings to reject cookies if you prefer. If you choose to reject cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the BBM services or websites you visit.
